ABA glossary
Backward pairing
Also called backward conditioning
Definition
Presenting the established reinforcer first and the neutral stimulus after it. This order usually produces little or no conditioning, so it is avoided when building a conditioned reinforcer.
Example from a session
An RBT hands over a chip and only then says "Nice!", and praise never gains much value.
