We collect what we need to run your study account and the waiting list. We don't sell your data, and we never want information about your clients.
1. What we collect
- Account details
- Your name, email address and sign-in method (password or Google). Passwords are stored only as secure hashes.
- Study data
- Your exam track, exam date, daily goal and time zone, plus your answers, scores, flashcard reviews, streaks, XP and badges. This is what makes practice adaptive.
- Study coach conversations
- The messages you send to the AI study coach and its replies, saved so you can return to them.
- Billing
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We store your subscription status and a Stripe customer ID, never your full card number.
- Technical and usage data
- Basic device and browser information, IP address, and sign-in cookies. On www.praxisnotes.com, Google Analytics counts the pages you visit (see Cookies below), and if product analytics is enabled, we record events such as "session completed". We do not record your screen or keystrokes.
2. How we use it
- To run your account and show your progress, mastery and readiness.
- To choose your next questions and schedule reviews.
- To answer you in the study coach.
- To send sign-in links, receipts and important account notices. Study reminders are opt-in.
- To find confusing questions, fix mistakes in our content and keep the service secure.
3. The AI study coach
When you message the coach, we send your message, relevant lesson excerpts and a short study profile (your exam track, exam date and weakest topics) to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate a reply. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. Never enter client names or other identifying health information.
4. The waiting list
While accounts are closed, you can join a waiting list instead of creating an account. It works separately from accounts, and joining it doesn't create one.
- What we collect
- Your email address, the exam you're preparing for, when you plan to sit it, the page you joined from and any campaign tags in its link (such as
utm_source), and a one-way hash of your IP address. The hash is used only to stop abuse, such as one person adding hundreds of addresses. We never store the IP address itself. - Why
- To email you when Praxis Learn opens or a spot is ready for you, and to count interest by exam.
- Who processes it
- Our hosting provider, OVHcloud, stores the list, and our email provider, Resend, sends the emails. Analytics records that someone joined the waiting list, never your email address.
- How long we keep it
- Until you unsubscribe, or 12 months after accounts open if you never create one.
- How to leave
- Use the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or email [email protected] and we'll remove you.
5. No client information
Praxis Learn is a study tool, not a clinical record system, and it isn't designed to hold protected health information. Don't enter client names, initials, dates of birth or other identifying details anywhere in the app. If we find that kind of information, we may delete it.
6. Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run Praxis Learn: hosting and database providers, Anthropic (study coach), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Google Analytics 4 from Google LLC (website analytics) and PostHog (product analytics and error reports, when enabled). We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or as part of a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax or billing reasons. Waiting-list details follow their own schedule in section 4.
8. Your choices
- Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us.
- Unsubscribe from non-essential emails with the link in each message.
- Your theme preference (light or dark) is stored only in your browser.
9. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. We don't use advertising cookies.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) runs on www.praxisnotes.com, the same as on the rest of the Praxis Notes website. It records the pages you view, where you came from, your device and browser type, and an approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address; Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. It sets the cookies
_gaand_ga_*to tell visits apart, which last up to two years. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. - PostHog, when product analytics is enabled, records events such as "session completed" and error reports, and keeps an anonymous ID in a first-party cookie and your browser's local storage.
To opt out of Google Analytics, install Google's opt-out browser add-on, or block or delete these cookies in your browser settings. Where we ask for consent, you can also decline analytics in the cookie banner. Blocking analytics cookies doesn't affect your account.
10. Age
Praxis Learn is for adults preparing for professional exams. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
11. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to people who need it, and passwords are hashed. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you promptly.
12. Changes and contact
We'll update the date above when this policy changes and notify you of material changes. Questions or requests: [email protected].
