Denominator
Definition
The number you divide by when calculating a measure, such as total trials for a percentage or observation time for a rate. Using the wrong denominator makes a summary misleading.
Example from a session
To get rate, Sam divides 18 requests by the 90-minute session, not by the 60 minutes he planned.
