ABA glossary
Response effort
Definition
The amount of physical or other work a response requires. When two responses produce the same reinforcer, people tend to choose the one that takes less effort.
Example from a session
Handing over a single picture card takes less effort than a full spoken sentence, so a new communicator uses it more.
