ABA glossary
Label vs. behavior
Definition
The difference between a word that summarizes or interprets conduct (aggressive, defiant, upset) and a description of what the person actually did or said. Notes and definitions use behavior, not labels.
Example from a session
Instead of "Liam was defiant," the note says "Liam said no and pushed the worksheet off the table."
