Topics in this domain

In outline order. Each guide ends with a quick check and a link to practice.

A.1Collect continuous data: frequency, rate, duration, latency, and IRTRecord every instance of a behavior with frequency, rate, duration, latency, and IRT, and learn which measure fits which behavior.8 min read14 practice questions
A.2Collect discontinuous data: partial-interval, whole-interval, and momentary time samplingEstimate behavior with partial-interval, whole-interval, and momentary time sampling, and learn which method tends to over- or underestimate.7 min read14 practice questions
A.3Measure behavior through permanent productsMeasure behavior after it happens by counting the lasting outcomes it leaves, and learn when permanent product data can and cannot be trusted.6 min read14 practice questions
A.4Record session data and keep graphs up to dateEnter session data accurately and on time, fix errors the right way, and keep line graphs current so your supervisor can make sound decisions.8 min read14 practice questions
A.5Write observable, measurable descriptions of behavior and its settingDescribe behavior and the setting around it in observable, measurable terms so anyone on the team could see it, count it, and agree on what happened.8 min read14 practice questions
A.6Summarize data with rate, mean duration, and percentageTurn raw session data into rate, mean duration, and percentage, choose the right denominator, and avoid the most common calculation errors.8 min read14 practice questions
A.7Spot trends in graphed dataRead a line graph like your supervisor does: name the trend's direction and steepness, and tell trend apart from level and variability.7 min read14 practice questions
A.8Why unreliable data and weak procedural fidelity are riskySee how inaccurate data and plans run differently from how they are written lead to bad clinical decisions, and what an RBT can do to prevent both.7 min read14 practice questions
